We are a relatively small church, which gives a family feel to our worship. There is a strong sense of fellowship and visitors are always made welcome.
In addition to our Sunday worship we meet for Food4Thought breakfast at 9:30 am on the first Saturday each month where we always welcome a few visitors from the other village churches and we share activities for reflection as well as a time to meet together.
Wherever they are, we encourage our members to pause and pray at 2:30pm every Wednesday.
Our Methodist Guild meets fortnightly and worship, discussion and outside speakers lead to an enjoyable evening. Various social events are arranged during the course of the year. Our building is also well used by a number of groups from the village, and we aim to offer a spiritual resource to the wider community. Our church is part of a 'circuit' of other Methodist churches in the West Hertfordshire area. Sunday worship is therefore led either by our Minister or a wide selection of preachers from around the circuit. There are also monthly communion services.
An important part of our mission is the ecumenical work that we do with other churches in the village, local and national organisations such as Christian Aid. We always look forward to welcoming new people into our church family, whether as occasional visitors or regular worshippers.

Finance
Those of you who attended the recent Church Council will recall that we reported a steady recovery from last year’s major expenditure and had been able to ‘put aside’ a fair amount towards next year’s assessments. So far, so good ! However, since then, we have needed to have major improvement work carried out on the electrical system. This is just to update and let you know that the cost of this has ‘wiped out’ the income generated from the Anniversary Appeal and the recently received GiftAid tax rebate. It is therefore important to ensure that our regular income ( collections and lettings ) is maintained at least to the current level.
Christian Aid Week **UPDATE**
The final result for the week’s activities was an excellent £ 5035.30 and the Christian Aid Committee have expressed their thanks to all who helped in any way.
If you might be interested in becoming a governor at a non-selective Secondary School in Chesham, please ask me for further details. Celia
