We are a relatively small church, which gives a family feel to our worship. There is a strong sense of fellowship and visitors are always made welcome.
In addition to our Sunday worship we meet for Food4Thought breakfast at 9:30 am on the first Saturday each month where we always welcome a few visitors from the other village churches and we share activities for reflection as well as a time to meet together.
Wherever they are, we encourage our members to pause and pray at 2:30pm every Wednesday.
Our Methodist Guild meets fortnightly and worship, discussion and outside speakers lead to an enjoyable evening. Various social events are arranged during the course of the year. Our building is also well used by a number of groups from the village, and we aim to offer a spiritual resource to the wider community. Our church is part of a 'circuit' of other Methodist churches in the West Hertfordshire area. Sunday worship is therefore led either by our Minister or a wide selection of preachers from around the circuit. There are also monthly communion services.
An important part of our mission is the ecumenical work that we do with other churches in the village, local and national organisations such as Christian Aid. We always look forward to welcoming new people into our church family, whether as occasional visitors or regular worshippers.
The Bible Study Fellowship will meet on Weds. 3rd and 17th at 2.00 p.m.

Abbots Langley Church Anniversary is taking place on Sun. 18th Jan. at 10.30 a.m. and, as last year, we shall be joining our friends across the valley and sharing lunch afterwards. The service will be led by our Superintendent, Rev. Caroline Wickens, so it’ll be a lovely opportunity to meet her for the first time. ( You won’t be surprised to know that AL will be coming to us for our own Anniversary on May 3rd, when Rev. Donna will be leading worship ).
The Christian Aid Committee have expressed their thanks to all who supported the recent fundraising meal at La Banq. The total raised was £1130. This lovely event will be repeated next year !
Coffee after morning services
Have you wondered what happens to the money donated ? Well, after expenses ( which are quite considerable….coffee, biscuits, disposable cups ), the excess is divided between our 3 main church charities…The Leprosy Mission, Action for Children and Christian Aid. Last year, each charity received just over £71. We’re grateful to Brian who masterminds it all !
Future dates for your diaries
Fri. 6th Feb. Village Quiz for Christian Aid and Sun. 8th Feb. Church Council and light lunch following the morning service
The AfC Hurricane Melissa Appeal raised £165. Thankyou !
