We have some rather busy Sundays in May, so here’s a brief rundown of what will be happening !.....
3rd Rev Donna will be leading our Anniversary Service and our Abbots Langley friends will be joining us. Apart from the usual celebrations, this is the one occasion during the year when we seek to raise funds to top up our own resources and the special appeal envelopes distributed with Andrew’s letter will be received and dedicated during the service. ( Please also remember to return the Talent Surveys if you can ). The service will be followed by a buffet lunch. If you haven’t yet ‘declared’ what you’d like to contribute, please let Wendy know.
10th We are hosting the United Christian Aid Service, led by Andrew and involving all the village churches. The speaker will be Richard Stanforth, the Government and Parliamentary lead for Christian Aid. The service will be followed by a simple meal ( we will be invited to donate the cost of our usual Sunday lunch ) and there will be an opportunity to ask Richard questions.
17th For this LA ( and as agreed at the last Church Council ) we will be trialling something different and the sermon/address will be electronically received !. Coffee will be followed by the Church Council. We then break for the traditional BBQ ( there will be a plate for donations towards the cost ) and then we’ll hold our Annual Church Meeting, to hear reports and elect people to various offices etc.
Christian Aid Coffee Morning ( see posters )
This will be held on Sat. 9th May 10.00 a.m. – 12 noon at Christ Church Baptist. Offers of cakes appreciated !
Abbeyfield Friars Mead - The next service will be on Tues. 12th at 11.00 a.m.
The Bible Study Fellowship will meet in the hall at 2.00 p.m. on Weds. 6th and 20th
The amount raised at the recent Leprosy Mission Service was £ 225.40p. Many thanks to all who contributed.
